Equipment Folks is based on what each person is looking to do for their length of cradle to grave type of fun or experience. I've been seeing people post estate sales or families of parents inheriting their stuff and have no idea how it works or functions for a specific task. Hopefully we can get those answers here. Plus getting someone starting out with a loaner....

I am Brand New to the Lapidary world. I like most have collected Rocks off and on most my life but have found a new hobby in the world of jewelry making. My wife does wire wrapping and I enjoy rock tumbling as well as looking to getting into making our own Cab's. We are going to look at a used Cabbing Machine by Gem Tech (Diamond Tool Co.) from the reading I've done it looks like they were ether bought out by Diamond Pacific or later became Diamond Pacific. Not sure about that part but from other posts on other forums it looks like that may be correct. That said I believe it to be 40 ish years old. The person selling it has a new machine so they don't need it any more. How do I go about making sure the wheels have some life left on them? Any help with this would be great.
Another note I may be looking for a saw and other tools to round out the operation. If anyone has any decently old working tools that may help out that would be great. Is there any place where Lapidary tools are posted for sale in the community or is it mostly just where ever they get listed?
